In the last year children and young people have missed out on so much and physical activity partners are advocating the use of physical activity as an essential tool in a person’s mental and physical recovery.
National School Sport Week 2021 will take place from Saturday 19th June to Friday 25 June 2021. The theme of this year’s campaign is ‘Together Again’ and it would be fantastic if schools from the local Warrington area can support this national initiative by organising there ‘sports day’ or ’School Games Day’ during this week. If all schools within our local area can encourage family’s, community groups and other schools to sign up and run a local event within your local community, imagine how good this will make the children and young people in the area feel.
Everyone who signs up will receive free resources from the Youth Sport Trust, including the ultimate guide to staging an inclusive sports day, top tips on harnessing the power of sport to bring young people together and advice on how to give children and young people a voice in organising their sports days. There will also be access to a communications toolkit that help people publicise their event to the surrounding area.
All schools that sign up will be eligible to be entered into a prize draw run in conjunction with Teach Active, Complete PE and Decathlon.
If you register and tick the box to take part in the competition you could win one of the following prizes:
- A voucher for £500 from Decathlon to spend on whatever you need
- Access to Teach Active (Active Maths and Active English) until 1 November 2021.
- Access to Complete P.E. with TOP PE and My Personal Best resources along with Complete PE membership until 1 November 2021
If you are a secondary school, you will be able to gift the Teach Active subscription to one of your feeder primaries.
The competition will be running until midnight on 31 May with the winner being announced on 7 June.
Please see the Terms and Conditions for full terms of this prize draw.

If you are unsure about what activities to include in your sports day, why not try the virtual Quadkids Athletics events published on this website. The resource offers you versions from Year 3 to Year 8 and is easy to organise and run. Secondly running this event and entering your scores on the submission form then enters you into the local town competition with the option of representing Warrington in the virtual finals if you win or come in second place.
Why not give it go?
