The School Games Active Championships

The School Games Active Championships is a national activity campaign to help children and young people across the United Kingdom stay physically active using the video-based platform powered by TopYa! Each week new challenges will be available on Monday, Wednesday and Friday for children and young people to engage in.

Primary and secondary aged children can join the School Games Active Championships at any time with free active challenges being set via videos within a designated School Games version of the TopYA! Active app. All students and or parents need to do, is download the app from the App Store or Google Play and register as a player and type in a unique code. (Download the How to get involved document for more information and the invite code.)

The idea is that children will then practice the challenges and submit their best video using a mobile device to receive personal coaching feedback from the TopYA! team of experienced virtual coaches. Each participant can earn points for each submitted video and climb leader boards to win prizes.

Obviously children's safety is of paramount importance, so we can confirm that the TopYa! Active app is committed to online safety and meets rigorous Children's Online Privacy Protection Rule Act (USA 1998) COPPA and General Data Protection Regulation (2018) GDPR safe guarding standards. For children under the age of 13, a parent or guardian needs to set up a TopYa! account and then create a child account afterwards. All the video content is suitable for children and young people of all ages and abilities, with regular submissions from National Governing Bodies of Sport.

Instructions on how to create an account for parents, children and teachers can be found in the How to get involved document and the FAQ document should hopefully answer questions regarding safeguarding concerns.
