National School Sport Week at Home 2020

Most of you will hopefully know there is normally a National School Sport Week held each year at the end of June. We normally hold events during this period including the School Sport Partnership Membership service event held at Orford Hub, this year I had also planned to host another ‘This Girl Can’ festival, Year 3 & 4 Developmental Basketball and the Hundred Cricket Festival.

This year due to the Covid-19 issue the annual campaign has changed to National School Sport Week at Home 2020 and will happen from Saturday 20 until Friday 26 June with the intention of trying to unite the country. During this week, the campaign is asking people to challenge families, friends and neighbours to participate in virtual sporting challenges. These challenges can be done at home and school, are designed to help people connect with one another during this unprecedented period of social distancing and revised school timetables.

All families, schools and other organisations need to do is register here and you will receive free videos and activities to help you plan a range of challenges throughout the week.  The hashtag to use during this week is #NSSWtogether

Go on give it go, try and get pupils and parents involved and enjoy getting yourselves physically active in the process.
