Canal & River Trust - Explorers learning from home resource

For those that do not know, the Canal & River Trust Explorers is a learning programme for the Canal & River Trust charity who are responsible for looking after over 2,000 miles of waterways across the country.

From an educational point of view @CRTExplorers provide educational visits, curriculum resources and ideas to show children about our local and national waterways.

They have recently launched a digital platform that shares ideas and activities that encourage children to create, play, read and watch as they learn about canals and rivers. They have learning resource bundles based around History, Geography, STEM, Water Safety and much more, that are perfect resources to be used in the classroom. The learning from home section has activities and interactive games from Building Bridges to Maps and Trail Activity worksheets that can be used for children aged 5-11 years old.

As Warrington has a number of waterways throughout the town, this could be a valuable learning resource that can be sent out to your pupils during the summer period, especially if the weather is nice enough to go out for some social distance walks. So, if you are looking at giving some fun additional activities for your pupils to do during the summer period why not check this site out. For more information click here.
