Wolves Foundation
The Wolves Foundation work in partnership with local, regional and national partners and providers to engage, enthuse and empower young people to initiate and sustain positive lifestyle choices.
With excellent links to community sports clubs, The Foundation has a specific focus on Sport, Health, Inclusion and the Arts with a series of physical activity opportunities for youngsters in and beyond the school environment. The Rugby League Team deliver a partnership initiative supported by Sky Television with the aim of developing Rugby League at grassroots level, encouraging more people to play the sport more often. All primary schools in Warrington are provided with FREE Rugby League coaching for Year 3 & 4 pupils helping to introduce the basics of the sport with a small games festival held at the local community Rugby League Club following a 5 week block of delivery within school.
The Wolves Foundation also provide additional breakfast, lunchtime and afterschool sessions for children including Rugby League, Dance and Multi-Skills/Sports alongside personal development opportunities (e.g. Children’s University, Arts Awards) and a variety of health initiatives such as Live Life the Wolves Way.
Live Wire
From May 2012 Leisure, Libraries and Lifestyles services transferred from Warrington Borough Council and merged into a Community Interest Company (CIC). As LiveWire is a CIC, any profit generated is reinvested back into developing and improving its facilities and services for the community to utilise. LiveWire strives to promote a healthy lifestyle, increased participation in activities whilst encouraging reading and learning through the use of free access to books, IT suites and the internet.
LiveWire is now the largest provider of Leisure facilities within the area and is committed to ensuring all members of the community have access to local facilities and activities. All services are Quality Accredited and offer excellent value for money on membership packages.
