Year 5 & 6 Handball Festival 4
This handball festival is part of the BCWG 2022 legacy project to develop young people's teaching and coaching skills whilst offering an alternative activity for certain cohorts of children and young people that do not normally have a chance to represent school in a sporting fixture.
The event is for Year 5 & 6 children (5 boys and 5 girls) from the Aspire group of children and the participants cannot have represented school in a sporting fixture.
The event will be organised and ran by the Priestley College students and will consist of 45 minutes to 1 hours' worth of coaching, where the participants will be coached in the basic skills of handball. A Priestley College tutor will be assessing the student deliverers during this period on their coaching and skill development performance. The second half of the event will be where the participants use these skills in competition against the other schools.
Rules of the competition will be told to every school on the day and the winning school will be decided by the Spirit of the Games Values scoring system based around honesty, determination, teamwork, self-belief, passion and respect. This will be explained to everyone on the day.
Arrival Time : You need to arrive at LEAST 15 minutes before the start of any event for registration, briefing & warming up.
